Do you want to explore a trade in carpentry or bricklaying, but not sure where your talents lay?
52824WA Certificate II Building and Construction (Pathway – Trades) is Skill Hire’s elite construction training program, a pre-apprenticeship course designed to get you ready for an apprenticeship and a trade career, while exploring your options.
This program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to begin your career in the construction industry and transition into an apprenticeship.
52824WA Certificate II Building and Construction (Pathway – Trades) offers two pathways – carpentry and joinery, or bricklaying / blocklaying. You will have the opportunity to learn the basic skills needed to get started in your trade of choice and then choose your preferred specialisation.
This course is hands-on, covering the key skills needed by employers in the construction industry. By week four, participants can select their pathway and Skill Hire, as a registered Group Training Organisation (GTO), is then uniquely placed to help find a host employer for real life work placement experience.

Participants will finish the program with a four-week work placement experience and are encouraged to get the most out of this experience as it can lead to an opportunity for employment. Participants will be required to follow site inductions as required by the host employer for their placement and will need to make their own way to and from their work placement.
